More beatles...

Made a few more beatles items and a few pair of leggings which I dont have pics of... I found the cutes dress at the thrift today for 99 cents! Just love those deals. I'll wear it at least once before I part with it, as it actually fits. Its rare that I find something that fits. Its either to small or too big.
I also found a nice pair of Alfani shoes which look vintage-y. There in great condition which begs the never ending question why do people throw this stuff out? Well thier loss my gain! :)

So Much to do...so little time

Time...somehow escapes me. I am absent minded, with a hint of A.D.D (thats self diagnosed BTW) My mind runs rampant with ideas, so many that I cant keep them all straight no matter how hard I try. I want to do it all yet I can't stay focused long enough to accomplish even one small task. Oh how I would love to somehow get to all together this year. Really be able to manage some sort of schedule so that I can actually make money from doing what I love. I dont know where to start. I feel like its such a daunting task. I do what I can to "market" myself but Im sure there are many things I am not doing too. I find it hard to find the time for anything else beyond creating, as that alone takes so much of my time. Hmmmm......Well in the meantime I keep on creating and smoke probably steams out my ears while I do because my mind is always five steps ahead of my body....

My latest addition...

Valentine oufit

I picked up this great border print fabric at my favorite place to buy new fabrics. (when I do buy them) Its M & L fabrics in Anahiem, and if your in the area I do suggest a trip there. A lot of the fabrics are old stock and there are some amazing fabrics although you do have to really dig to find them. Anyhow this print is really pretty and I had a dress in mind but instead I made a two piece, cutting very carefully. I only bought three yards. I used two vintage patterns one for the top and another for the skirt. Both very easy and I am really excited with the result. Especially since I forced myself to really finish it before starting any new projects. So many times I get almost done and then need buttons or something to finish and I dont want to say how many unfinished projects are now in my basket.

My next project will be a dress from this pattern. I have some Robert Kaufman fabric I picked up at the same store that I will use. Its the black print with flowers. And I also will be making the same pattern in black for my daughter, who requested "no poofy sleeves dog" , sigh.....

Happy Be-Lated New Year!

Ok I know Im so baaad at this blog thing. I really want to get it right if it kills me. Well I have been very busy and without internet for a while due to moving again and yeah...soooo

What have I been up too? Well, sooo much. I have a few new bag designs. I had a spot on the valentine showcase that wasnt very sucessful and I was suprised. But sales are slow all around right now. So I just keep sewing, and somehow still shopping :)

I went back home for a visit and found some great vintage clothing and fabrics. A few new patterns too. Brought a ton of stuff home and now my place is even more packed. I rearranged a bit and its ok but Im quickly outgrowing this place.

I have been alley hunting and finding lots of great stuff like this table. Covered in 6 or so layers of paint Im in the process of stripping it. I just cant believe it was thrown out. Its so cute.

I have also been on a rampage since new years as I found out my bike was given away by an ex roommate who figured I left it unclaimed (even though I contacted her numerous times about it). Well it was a sad loss as it was a vintage Schwinn Breeze , nearly un-replaceable at the price I got it for. But today (of all days it was pouring rain) the sky parted and a miracle happened. I found a similar Schwinn Racer (1961) for the same price I (originally) got mine for on cl. and the guy even threw in an extra bike! A Schwinn World Tourist (1982) So I feel closure now in a way but at the same time its bittersweet, like trying to replace your old dog. Its somehow not the same.

Well now I really have a lot of projects to do and so I guess I better stop writing and get working!

Well...

Life seems to be very challenging for me at the moment. I am having the worst time trying to manage it and as such have not blogged in some time. I have two shows coming up and have been busy ramping up for them. Here is a really cute bag I made from vintage fabric.

I will have to make another or I wont be able to part with it! It has silver rope for the handle and silver fabric inside as the lining, with a vintage button accented by a rosette of more silver fabric.

Come by and see me if your local to the central valley. Check my calendar to the right for dates.

Moving?

Just a quick blurb tonight. I have been busy trying to finish projects and then I have to slam my daughters homecoming dress out by Sat morning so I likely wont post the rest of the week. I am up tonight as I was watching election coverage like the rest of the US. (BTW I have an editorial post over on my other blog www.inpiredbylife247.blogspot.com) Disclaimer you may not agree with me and thats OK. Anyhow I am also testing out a new hosting over at squarespace. So far Im liking it, as it has ease of use for designing my blog, and lord knows I barley have time TO blog let alone design it. Plus later I can integrate my website with it. So please check it out and leave me a comment there telling me how you like the look of it! www.sewbitchy.squarespace.com

Chow!
